great remixes. dark Tomiee noughties style (featured on nick warren's essential mix) - tough, deep and dark tribal moodiness a la Diggers LA etc... that whole vibe with some FSOL reprieve in later phases... could imagine it going down well with the newer techno sounds currently abound

Once in a blue moon do you come across a modern remix that manages to beat an original classic. This is one of those rare occasions. Satoshi Tomiie takes Papua New Guniea into pitch black territories. The bassline is pulsating and roaring, the acid lines gritty and when the break comes it's like you are looking right down into an abyss. It's a monster of a remix. Probably one of the best remixes ever made in dance music. It has also aged really well and can be easily thrown in a modern dj mix and get the crowd in uproars.

I nerver really liked the original ''papua new guinea'' track so much, as it sounded too atmospheric and soft to my ears, and i would say a little boring, plus it is an overplayed track.
However these 2 Satoshi Tommie remixes are very dark, and far more interesting, than the original track. I like them very much and they are the best remixes of the track out of all versions and remixes alongise ''Journey To Pyramid'' which is my favorite mix from the old versions, also very dark compared to the original.

Satoshi Tomiie is the only one that comes close to bettering the original. I actually prefer the main-path mix to the original (but only because I haven't heard it as much). The A-side is a very dark mix, that just keeps getting more and more intense until the magnificent breakdown shimmers into existence. Absolutely breathtaking. The B-side is like the A-side, but its all dark. There are a few moments when there is a glimmer of light, but it is quickly consumed by the darkness. Evil. Buy it. Now.
