I have no idea what's going on with the quality, it sounds perfectly fine for quieter tracks but the second it hits a boss theme it always sounds distorted.
-
I dont know about others but Im getting some distortions on Rom, The Vacuous Spider. I have heard it on other copies as well and tried a few high end setups now just to make sure its not system dependent. Think there is some pressing or sourcing errors done here. It happens on some other tracks too but Rom is the worst.
Update:
Ive gotten a replacement copy from Laced Records now and it distorts in the same way. Trying to the companies involved to see where the issue might lie.
There are 3 possibilities now as I see it. Either the source used is filled with distortions, the metalwork produced from Abbey Road or Optimal is faulty, or all 3 setups can not track the music. Pressing error should be eliminated as they seem to sound wrong in the same way for both copies. Its also heard somewhat on a rip I heard on youtube.
Will update if I get more info to share. As of now I can not recommend this product however.
Update 2:
Neither Laced or Abbey Road respond anymore and Ive waited months. No one wants to take the blame it seems.
Equipment Used:
Rega RP1 with Paratrace tipped Nagaoka MP-200
Cyrus 2 Amplifier
System Fidelity SF-3050 Tower Speakers
Custom made HQ Speaker Cables
Also Tested on:
Linn Axis table with Audio Technica cart with SAS stylus.
Project Classic with MC Ortofon Quintet Bronze cart. -
Good pressing. Nice and clear. Does not come with anti static record sleeves which is always a shame but a common sadness inflicted on one’s self buying records

My copy has a little bit of distortion on certain tracks, but it's never so terrible that it takes away from the listening experience. This is a pretty cool trophy to have after 100%ing this devil of a game. Other than the slightly distorted bits, the mix here hits hard on my system. Kinda gives me PTSD flashbacks, haha!
-
too much distortion on the vinyl 1 and the vinyl 2 is just unplayable on my turntable... I used AT LP120 with AT-XP3. don't buy this...

anybody looking to buy this but doesn't want to shell out, its currently in stock and on sale on https://onvinylstore.com/en_US/p/Bloodborne-OST-2x180g-LP/6679
Overall good OST, havent suffered issues with my pressing so far

Not sure if they fixed the alleged major pressing flaws, but I'm not getting the distortion others have reported. I know Optimal had a period where pressings seemed to suffer on the quality front. Mine sounds great thankfully. No issues on Rom, there are major dynamic swings on that track though which I could see troubling some set ups. Pretty quiet pressing on the whole.
-
Can’t say enough about how great this OST is. Unfortunately this pressing is marred with distortion issues and spoils the great packaging/presentation. Hopefully this gets rereleased with better pressing quality and DLC tracks included :/

Edited 3 years agoHmm, i'm super torn on this. On one hand the music is great, easily 5 stars. But the pressing is...inconsistent. Some parts sound really distorted. There is some crackle and surface noise but not horrible. Just feels like the mastering itself is low quality. The first hunter sounds good to me but Rom has distortions.
Plus the one i ordered from Amazon came with spine damage. Good old amazon. Luckily i got a partial refund, so i only paid about $30 bucks for it, so its fine. But i have to say, sound quality wise, disappointing. -
This really is distorted at points! Thank god i bought this for only 34 euro and not 60 like some other maniacs around here. Anyone know how I can lower the distortion with equipment?
