Edited 5 months agoMore dynamic than the CD and hi-res remasters but not enough IMO, a bit too bassy (which is typical of 2010s releases). My copy has pops and crackles throughout.
-
Variant 2 (A-1-1 / B-1-1) matches the runout of the original UK press. I'm guessing cut from the same metal part. I have this and it sounds most excellent; I liked it better than the yellow vinyl 20th anniversary copy I had.
-
Edited 2 years agoPoor quality mastering, it sounds like compressed MP3. Stick to the CD if you must own this album, which, on the whole, I think is average and not a patch on their follow-up. Baffled by some of the reviews below making out this is an audiophile’s dream 🤷♂️

This is a wonderful edition, the highest quality vinyl. Not a single click, not a single scratch. Just amazing. Thanks Parlophone.

Edited 3 years agoI don't really agree with reviews here. Sorry everyone, but you should wash your ears or listen to the records with headphones. The vinyl itself is pretty fine, but the mastering is clearly compressed and more lifeless than my CD version. Sounds like it has been cut from a CD or MP3s…
Or maybe I have a bad copy ? It's particularly clear during Shiver, where it sounds like somebody forgot to mix & balance things. -

Edited 5 years agoThis kind of pressing job is the reason i love vinyl. Rich, balanced and crystal clear sound with no surface noise, crackles or pops at all. Way better than the terrible 2008 Capitol pressing. Turn off the lights and play it loud!

Very nice quality of vinyl, clean pretty surface. A good balance of volume, not abused compression, there is no noise and clicks. The frequency balance is perfectly. Transparent pleasant sound. In of price and quality, it amayzing!
