Reviews
-
My copy was brand new & sealed - but the first track on Side Two has many deep scratches throughout the entire song that are louder than the music! Completely unlistenable, and a total waste to money. It must have been some kind of accident at the pressing plant but really there is no excuse for this. Zero quality control.
-
Great sound throughout. All of the modern reissues of PF sound fantastic, and this ain't no exception, especially the two mono tracks included. Great stuff, but that outer sleeve is flimsy as shit
-
Great introduction to early Floyd, with a healthy dose of Syd Barrett's best moments with the band, and the fantastic "Biding My Time", a psychedelic blues masterpiece. This is the 2018 pressing, and it sounds wonderful, with ample low end, impressive range, clear instrumentation, and an expansive soundstage. My copy was purchased new and plays flawlessly, with zero surface noise.

Edited one year agoSounds great. Very good and gentle remaster. Clear sonics, great instruments separation. Maybe a little bit too heavy on the bass ) but I don’t have an original to compare.
Antistatic inner sleeve. Dead quiet surface.
There is no any additions materials too bad. It would be nice to see a gatefold with some materials inside, like it is for some other PF reissues. -

Great remastering and dead silent pressing! It is a mono pressing and needs to be played either with a mono cartridge or a mono switch on your preamp otherwise it would sound weird. I do not know why they label it as stereo mono.
-
Edited 5 years agoLovely pressing ! All the tracks are dynamic and detailed. Nice to hear Arnold Layne and See Emily play in mono rather than fake stereo. Comes in poly lined black inner sleeve.

The remastering is rather good, but the vinyl is rarely silent. I washed it but a lot of clicks have remained. To be honest, i don’t have the original pressing
