Second copy of this, first one had pretty severe dish warp. Current copy much better but still some noise and 95% flat. Thankful for a B+ copy. Subsonic filter seems to resolve most noise issues.

Edited 5 months agoI just picked up a sealed copy of this from Amoeba in San Francisco, and it's a new variant (added as variant 8, pending approval). It also has "#27" in the runout on the A side, and "#35" on the B side. Both are hand-etched unlike the rest of the runout code stuff which is machine etched or printed or however they do that. Will report back once I give it a listen, but I'd only be comparing it to digital.
Label wise, it differs from the image attached to this release in that both A and B side labels have the copyright/trademark text along the top edge of the label, as opposed to only the B side. There is no note about location of manufacture. -
Picked up a sealed copy from a local store yesterday. Won the GZ lottery. Runouts matching variant six above. Nearly flat. No pops or crackle. Doesn’t sound dynamically compressed like the 2007 .

I got a great copy from Amazon. Was nervous and wasn’t sure which pressing it was gonna be but they’re easy to return, got a great price and I’m v happy with the sound.

I feel bad for everyone that bought this and had issues, always a risk with GZ media. I recently purchased new, Sept. 2023, and it had new plate numbers so I added them, /E, /I, made in europe on the label(Czech?) The one I have is quiet, flat, if it’s played on side b with a heavy weight. I have a 5 pound weight I labeled GZ only, don’t worry my platter is 40lbs. The bowl should flatten out with the record flattener, also labeled GZ. Sound is good though for what it is, hardly any distortion noticeable, sounds as good as streaming version with a good DAC. I don’t buy anything manufactured by GZ media anymore, only way to let them know it is not ok.

Disappointing. My favorite album of all time and this pressing doesn’t do it justice. The only thing that sounds clear is the drums, so if you’re a big fan of Phil Selway this one’s for you. Thom is muffled and the rest of the band sounds compressed. Avoid this one.

Noisy and sounds like he’s singing into a plastic bag. What’s with the relentless awful pressings by XL? This record is garbage. -
My copy has exact same matrix number as this 2017 US version (Side A: 156455E1/B XLLP 324 / Side B: 156455E2/D XLLP 324), same front and back cover and inner sleeve as well, BUT BUT BUT......the label says "MADE IN EUROPE". What's going on? Vinyl sounds great thought.

Edited 2 years ago15 Step y Bodysnatchers suenas excesivamente planas, rugosas y saturadas. Lo demás del disco se rescata sin ser excelente. Le quedo grande el sonido a XL USA esta vez. Tendré que buscar el 2007 europeo del que se menciona es el mejor prensado del In Rainbows. -
I was very worried when I read the comments about this version but honestly, this one sounds great to me. No issues with noise or manufacturing issues. I think this one was really well done, even though it's not my favorite RH album.
