One of my favorite releases. First of all, let me state that I am an atheist. I haven't believed in god, since I stopped believing in Santa Claus and The Easter Bunny. But Dylan's conviction and language brings the material above it's source in such a way that those who haven't cracked a bible would get something out of it. Favorites on the first disc include "Gotta Serve Somebody," "I Believe In You" "Precious Angel," and "Solid Rock." Now, I am not overly familiar with the christian trilogy albums proper, but these live versions have an energy to them that moves me deeply. The tracks border on blues rock - with tasteful Mark Knopfler style guitar playing on "I Believe In You" and "Precious Angel." A must have for all Dylan fans, and fans of rock music in general.
