"The Music Got Me" was big in Chicago in the early 80s. It was pre-house, or proto-garage. They used to play with 2 copies of the record, re-editing it live, stretching the murky bass line and those legendary up-mixed spitting hi-hats. The vocals are pretty sampled too, that "whoo-whoo-whoo, free your body" -line is from this record. Visual's other legendary cut was "Somehow, Someway", which is equally important in the deveploment of Garage sound.

Ultra low-key dance track that most people have never even heard of. It debuted on the black singles charts on 3/26/83 at #76 for 6 weeks and was released by Prelude Records, the home of D Train. Actually, the lead singer of "The Music Got Me" sounds exactly like James "D-Train" Williams, let alone Colonel Abrams. Visual was a studio project fronted by Boyd Jarvis and DJ Tim Regisford.
