Diana Ross – Swept Away

After its initial release in 1984 and before this record became the source of THEE Vaporwave anthem, I sought this record out for "Telephone" in which Bernard Edwards produced and played bass on. Probably the hottest this record (in its original form) could provide.

I am a huge fan of Diana Ross. She made one of my favorite tracks (Until We Meet Again). Jake go this for me for my birthday this year. Jake's a great guy if you ever meet him.

I only bought this record for a single reason - It's Your Move. It is quite a unique song and by far the best one on the entire album. Some of the other songs are truly terrible but It's Your Move is a song I simply cannot enough of and yes, I also found out about it through Vaporware. Plus there is another thing I have to mention. This is an absolutely fantastic DMM pressing. The level of detail is amazing, bass is very punchy and the dynamics are just crazy. This might be one of the best sounding records in my entire collection. I only wish some of the other songs were better ( Missing You is OK and so are 2,3 other songs ). [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge ]

I almost had this a couple years ago for $1. Took it home thinking "Aww man, what a score!", got home, checked the record, and that shit was wavy like the ocean, fifteen kinds of warped lol. Ended up keeping the cover tho because of the way it folds out, it makes for a super cool poster/wall decoration.

was any copy pressed on 45rpm instead of 33 1/3 rpm? i hardly doubt it, but some of the releases are not clear about the speed.

My copy of Disc 2 is mastered with all the track times of the songs from Disc 1, so none of the tracks start or stop at the correct time. Disasterous.

There are 2 errors on this remaster. "Missing You" on Disc 1 is the 7" mix and the 7" single mix on disc 2 is the album version. The "Touch by Touch 12" Instrumental" on disc 2 is actually a vocal edit of the 12" Single Mix and clocks in at 4:04. There are vinyl pops on the opening of "Telephone-Edited version".
