Pearl Jam – Vitalogy

God there is some whinging arse hats on here.
I have an OG and this one. The 2011 is a decent cut. Yes new vinyl can have static and associated muck when first opened. A gripe of mine as well tbo. But I’d be interested as to what audiophile holy grail they have listened to that this pales in comparison to? My guess is zip. Cos the OG had a lot packed onto each side and isn’t light years ahead of this believe me. Everyone’s a sound engineer on here obviously lol.

This sounds so good! it has the loudest mastering I've ever heard on a vinyl record...

And so it begins with Vitalogy the rapid desent into irevalency for one of THE most overrated bands in the history of rock right up there with Kiss and Radiohead. Truly nothing emotionally moving here except Better Man which is a good song. Sound quality is OK but gets overlooked by the overall bad music within. This album is miles behind the classic Ten album. Should have just stopped after VS and became a footnote in history as one of the great two album bands like School of Fish. There's bugs in my and it's them.

My copy of this is misprinted and one of the labels is over the actual record.

My copy sounds perfectly fine. Had to give a cleaning, but I also snagged it second hand from an estate sale for $9. 🙌🏻

Got a copy on eBay that sounds amazing for $30 bc the cover had some damage in the top corner. The record sounds really good. Never listened to the remastered version to compare it but I don't feel the need to bc it's perfect

Dont let the sketchy “dat” discussion scare you away. These people have no clue how these were cut. My first 3 albums are definitive. They sound miles ahead of any other presses. They sound perfect in every way. Brendan O’Brien and Nick Didia didn’t mess around. This press and the first press of the other sound amazing too. I will say the ten club exclusive box of VS and Vitalogy sound pretty darn good too.

This album is a celebration of vinyl, and this pressing absolutely lives up to that. I've never heard the original, but spread over two LPs, the tracks here have room to breathe, and the sound stage is large and full because of it. The gatefold sleeve and liner booklet are just an absolute joy to hold and to look at. These songs hit the radio just as I was coming into adolescence, and now owning it on vinyl in my 40s feels like a validation that I lived during a significant and unique moment in time for music. Can't recommend this highly enough!

Tremor Christ has always been my favorite track on this one, and man, it shines here!
