Testament (2) – The Legacy

Aside from the blurry cover art, this record sounds incredible. The color vinyl looks super cool. The music is punchy and hits hard. Definitely the version to get currently if you need this for your collection.

Beautiful color design. Excellent sounding record. No pops, static or noise. Sounds like a new record. Awesome remaster.

Sound is very good. An amazing thrash record. The color of the wax is on point with the sleeve design. The blurry artwork coincides with the original CD artwork. It is just blurry and nothing can likely be done. The record is awesome. I have played it 3 days in a row when I got home and also before bed. Such a good vintage thrash album.

Edit: I played this again today when I got home from work. It is a masterpiece. 💯

Just got the Feb '25' purple, blue, and red marble vinyl in. Nothing to compare it to, but I would assume it's the same remaster as this one. Sound isn't great tbh. But then again, this album never sounded great to begin with. Curious how the MOV version sounds compared to this version. This is a quiet press, so be prepared to crank it. Some tracks sound better than others on here. Maybe there wasn't any consistency with the original master. I only owned the original cassette, and didn't sound the best back then either. Tbh, I prefer the 'First Strike Is Still Deadly' re-recordings of some of the better tracks on this album. Can't say I really recommend this one. I mean... it's not terrible, but nothing mind-blowing either. It's currently on sale through Amazon for $23.99. Can't recommend it if the price ends up going through the roof. So grab it now for a good price if you really want to add it to the collection.

P.S. My copy was dead quiet. No pops, clicks, etc. - good quality control

This version sounds better than previous pressings and even more clear and balanced than any cd, its a great addition to my collection 🤘

I can only stand aghast at how awesome this thrash record is (this old-school body can't head bang anymore, mkay?). Really one of my favorites of the era. Band photo on the flip says it all - these boys ain't fucking around.

This album has never sounded great and I had a few original pressings. This MOV version is a little better so probably best version available.

Surface noise plagued by many splatter pressings doesn’t affect this version so much, as there aren’t many quiet ages beyond the spaces between songs. The 16-page booklet is high-quality; all of the pages are a gloss finish. However, mine appears to have been put into the sleeve before the gloss was dry, and the pages stuck together around the edges. As for the music, the remaster adds to the soundstage and dynamic range. But, I always thought this album needed to be remixed AND remastered. The remaster helps it, but the parts I wish were remixed are still there. The mix of this album was always the most difficult part of it, for me.

Thoroughly enjoying these Testament reissues! Sure, the cover art reproductions aren't the best, but the records themselves definitely sound nice! With The Legacy, I've only heard the cd prior. The cd was always ridiculously low volume. To my ears, this reissue is just fine. Sure, I have to turn it up, but I was gonna be doing that anyway! Lol. Hope they keep em coming!

Aside from the less-than-stellar cover art reproduction and the audio being cut very low, the record looks nice and flat and sounds fine if you're not afraid to use your volume knob.
