Does anyone else have an unnumbered copy of this? I think in 2016 Temporary Residence "found" 25 unnumbered. Anyway, I have that edition--numbered or not, this is quite a gem. -

Any clue what’s up with the recent handful of ~$80 sales? Saw one from a new for $81 but was gone when I went to check out.

The music is brilliant, of course it is, but surely this is one of the most pointless vinyl releases ever? The long durations and moments of near silence in the music makes CD / digital the right format for it. I fell for this expensive back breaking lump of vinyl and a superfluous book with endless slight variations of the same photo, before finding that getting up every 20 minutes or so to change sides part way through pieces of slowly unfolding process music just destroyed the spell every time. And anyone that thinks they can hear more detail and warmth in the music on vinyl from some crumbling and decaying lo-fi tape loops must surely be kidding themselves. Get the superior (and cheaper) CD version instead, it’s far more sympathetic and better suited to these long duration ambient works. Vinyl isn’t always better, in fact sometimes it’s much worse.

I send an email to William Basinski about 2 weeks ago regarding a possible repress. He replied that this is the one I should pursue. Because I bought his very first CD in the most simple format, from the store Other Music in NY early 2002 & he realized I was part of this beautiful community, if there were plans of a new release, he may have implied something. I don't believe a repress is in the plans right now. Sorry to disappoint. However he may want to keep it secret, so let’s hope so. I can't believe I actually missed the original release, but I was oversees between 2011-2014. To me though it’s all about the first pressing in 2002! Maybe he could repress just this first work. It’s essential especially to New Yorkers.

maybe a good news about the repress:
I ed Temporary Residence Limited asking if there was the possibility of a reissue in the future, and that I am not the only one who wants it, they replied: "We would love to do it! We know you’re not the only one ", but certainly they wouldn’t do it for the 9/11 anniversary. so there is no 100% certainty, but there is certainly something positive and I am confident. -
Edited 4 years agoI bought this box for £150 shortly after it came out. It's a beautiful collection, and the music is essential, but no one should be paying more than I did. Hopefully there's a repress for those who missed out.

Please release another run of CD box sets. Come on you know you really need to.. -
I'm honestly thinking they'll probably repress when we get towards the 20th anniversary. I'm sure we'll see a repress in the next two years.
