'Hell Freezes Over' was given its name in reference to a quote made by Don Henley.
After the band had split up, when asked if the band would ever get back together, Henley responded "when Hell freezes over".
Hell Freezes Over was released after a fourteen-year-long break up when The Eagles got together to perform live for the first time in April 1994 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California for an MTV special.
At the beginning of this concert, Glenn Frey announces: "For the record, we never broke up; we just took a 14-year vacation".
The band's lineup was that of Eagles - The Long Run era: Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Don Felder, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit.
Hell Freezes Over album was released on November 8, 1994.
The album is the band's second live album, after Eagles - Eagles Live.
It contains four new studio tracks and eleven tracks recorded live.

The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over DVD also featured the song "Seven Bridges Road" (in DTS audio only), which was not included in the Vinyl or CD format releases.

Let me be the first one to comment on this particular pressing: it sounds VERY good. Quiet, flat and strong "you are there" presence, balanced yet dynamic tonality, flawless vinyl condition, a happy purchase for me.

One of the best sounding albums in my 500 plus collection mind blowing really up there with AIC Unplugged MOV press IMO! I don't understand the bad reviews at all! Really clean nice highs and thundering lows on my subwoofer! It's beautiful and compares to the DTS DVD I have sounds as good as the PCM track on it! Must have album for any Eagles fan!!!

from what ive read, for the real deal, no geffen records under the geffen logo on disc labels. the unofficial/pirated one does have geffen records under the logo. -
Both vinyl are flat, no surface noise and the soundstage absolutely stunning as if the band is actually playing in front of me. HIghly recomended and an absolute gem to have in my collection. -
I bought this many years ago from Tower Records in NYC when it first came out. What a find. I love this vinyl pressing. I go to it frequently. It sounds AMAZING.
The Sonics and Soundstage are exactly what you would expect if the Eagles were sitting in your living room and playing. As I write this and listen, they are! Oh and those intro drums on Hotel California!! WOW!

The 25th anniversary 2 LP pressing of The Eagles' Hell Freezes Over offers a remarkable improvement in audio quality compared to my original 1994 pressing. The remastered edition brings a clarity and depth to the sound, with richer lows and more pronounced highs that make the acoustic elements and harmonies stand out. The pressing itself is much quieter, with less surface noise and better dynamic range Overall, the 25th anniversary edition feels more polished and refined, making it a worthy upgrade. -
I have a simmilar CD, with the same songs, but a different order as the original album but also different as this one. It also has simmilar spelling mistakes and the same translations into chinese as this version. I cannot find anything about my CD online, not even the label "Star River Music Best" quite confused.

I have the German pressing and it is phenomenal. No problems with the vinyl itself and the mastering is very relaxed and very true to nature. -
Very good reissue from Simply Vinyl. Sounds like you are in the front row. -
I must’ve gotten a bad copy. Rough edges on both records and audible distortion on a couple of the sides.
