Tricky – Maxinquaye

This is one of my all-time favourite albums and I've never owned it on vinyl until yesterday.

Good lord.. dead quiet, perfectly flat and centered, incredible separation and dynamics, beautiful packaging, and the differences to these classic tracks are subtle but exciting,
I'm so glad I never bought the older releases, this is stunning.

Haha, what can i say. one of my most played cd`s from the 90`s, here remastered (very well i might add) its the same tracks but its not. its fresh and sounds new again. Its beautiful, crisp, punchy and clear.
Always wierd when you have heard tracks SO much gets a new take on them. Well done. Trip hop doesnt get much attention anymore, but this was fun. Love it, thanks✌️

I've got ,""maxinequaye dark side"" in a slip sleeve. ..is it the 2nd cd in this version does anyone know?....I like it exceedingly well and own the original album....if it is the 2nd cd from the expensive version here I've kind of made my own..I like the idea of that. It plays jolly well... someone gave me it today. I just don't know. I didn't know there was a dark side of this record

Excellent album. Not a great edition however - wholeheartedly agree that it lacks any weight in the bass.

The album sounds great and the vocals especially.
I wish it included a lyric sheet.

Great album, not so great pressing. Gain is very low, had to turn it up much louder than most vinyl and the vinyl itself is not very quiet. I streamed it right after listening to the vinyl and would recommend streaming by a mile if you have a good digital front end. Much better dynamics than the vinyl.

There are some really differing opinions on the SQ of this. My copy sounds fantastic—considerably better than the CD I have. Played on a TechDAS Air Force 3 with a Kuzma 4 Point arm and Shelter Accord cartridge. Definitely no shortage of bass here.

Classic album! But are the b-sides sourced from lossy files? They sound off on all formats

I’ll echo that it’s light on bass. Has some decent separation. Ran it through a couple speakers on my set up- prefers the mid heavy ones.

I’ve been listening to this album for the past 25 years. This pressing does it justice.
