Fantastic album. And I like the sound of this pressing: dynamic, rich.

This is a fantastic album. It would be wonderful to see this repressed on vinyl, and I’m surprised it hasn’t been since 1987.

A fantastic debut album offering a delicious slice of roots rock, some Elvis-twang and a whole lot of rockabilly. As much as we applaud the stellar vocals of Chris Isaak, his ing band (Silvertone) provide the perfect landscape for those never-ending vocal runs especially on tracks like 'Blue Hotel' and 'Wild Love' so full props to James Calvin Wilsey (guitar), Kenney Dale Johnson (drums) and Rowland Salley (bass). The debut also offers music lovers perhaps the best ever version ever of 'Heart Full Of Soul' on record and I actually like this album much more than the polished 'Heart-Shaped World' that would follow a few years later.

Chris Isaak's second album is a powerful, serious and somber work, there's not a single weak track. From the first song, "You Owe Me ..." the beat and rhythm drives on to the last. This album is a tour de force and clearly demonstrates his abilities as a singer and as a songwriter. A major accomplishment that guaranteed his position as a rising star in the musical heavens. Five stars.

Oh wow, this is great. Has Isaak picked up the torch from Elvis? If you like country with a hint of Rock/Blues and a dash or Roxy Music and Pink Floyd dance guitar music rifts - you will love this ! Worth every penny of the €20 it cost me.
