      Terrible in every possible way.

The boggo jacket is as cheap as you can get but thats forgiveable. Ive tried two copies from two different retailers and both set new standards in pringle/dish shaped vinyl. Frankly i should plug the spindle hole and use them for something else. I can at least partially clamp one side of each but these also come filthy, scuffed and with one of them, exhibiting non fill at the end of a side 2. So i double Degritted the least insulting copy and tried it. Oh wow.... it sounds crap too. There is NO LIFE. Presumably someone who didnt want to be at work that day went in to the desk and cut from the poor source as quick as poss without hearing a test pressing.

One of the worst records ive bought of the last 5 years. Easily top 10 worst out of many 00's

Great pressing, vocals is bright and clear, bass loud, flat and silent groove. Good job on the mastering, every instrument is breathing

Fairport Convention – What We Did On Our Holidays (Island Records – ILPS 9092, UK Reissue, Palm Tree Label)
What We Did On Our Holidays finds Fairport Convention blending traditional folk with a fresh rock spirit, laying the foundations of the British folk rock movement. Songs like Meet on the Ledge and Fotheringay are full of youthful honesty, carried by Sandy Denny’s haunting vocals and Richard Thompson’s emerging songwriting. This palm tree label reissue sounds clean and natural, with excellent midrange detail that brings out the warmth of the acoustic instruments and vocal harmonies. There's good dynamic range here — quieter ages feel intimate, while electric moments still have impact. Paired with classic Island packaging and that iconic palm tree label, this pressing offers a faithful and highly listenable version of one of the band’s defining albums.

Variant 3 exists with CGCD 4430 01@ D (instead of F at end)

OK Carthage did a fantastic job on this reissue, the best I've heard. Super quiet and dynamic sound. Sandy Denny's first record with Fairport Convention, great songs and nice guitar playing from the 17 year old Richard Thompson. The one to track down.

True UK 1st pressings sound fantastic . Plenty of air between instruments makes this pressing incredibly transparent . Island records had a habbit of pressing Incredible sounding records in the 60's and 70's .

This digital reissue (remaster?) sounds great. It's nothing short of amazing how well some of these 60s albums sound when they're cleaned up. I would score the sound quality of this a 95. Being nit picky, it lacks a little bit of clarity. Otherwise everything is fine. A real masterpiece of 60s flower-power folk rock.

I have this label and cover; pressing indicates Monarch press (same as the 1969 Monarch release). This sounds very good, although vocal peaks can overwhelm at times (track A6); may indicate groove wear/damage.

My copy has the same runout identifiers as this one, however the label indicates a later ‘70s A&M product. Handwritten “WVGS” on side 2, possible radio station ? Vocal peaks on track A6 really stress my Monitor Audio tweeters!
