Joy Division – Total (From Joy Division To New Order)

My pressing skips a few times but when it’s not skipping it sounds great

Great pice of vinyl here!!! Not a pop or skip, anything but great sound and mastering choice. A must if you don't want or is expensive to have all of his material in singles. Recommended!

Solid pressing. Audio sounds great. My only complaint is, I’d prefer they use rice paper sleeves instead of the heavy paper. Just replace those with a cool insert that has some history and cool photos. Otherwise this would be 5/5

Kind of annoying that they'd spend time and money reissuing this on vinyl when they know that everyone is dying for New Order: Substance. Oh well.

My vinyl pressing of this sounds amazing. The sound is rich and clear and full. No complaints there.

They pulled a cross-section of songs that I appreciate. It's a collection that may not please everyone, but the fans of both bands are likely to enjoy the whole album. If you only like one band or the other, it's a little more iffy that you'd want this one. I am absolutely happy with it, though.

For a casual JD/NO fan who will never buy all of the albums, this is an excellent collection of songs at a reasonable price. I can't speak to sibilance or IGD, but it sounds great on my modest setup - especially when turned up a little bit. Will I ever listen to any of the late-period NO songs on side D? I absolutely will not. But that still leaves 3 sides of brilliant music.

I’ve had this awhile and pulled it out today and gave it a listen. First of all, I’m not a huge fan of Joy Division, and I get there’s also many more New Order songs they could have chosen in place of others. For example, why Fine Time from their Technique album? Round and Round and Vanishing Point are the best songs on that album.
Anyway, sound quality is nothing exciting, lacks any real dynamics, plays quietly, but just sounds mediocre.
December 3, 2023 - while these songs could be, and hopefully will be remastered with better dynamics someday, the songs that are on this sound so much better then the 2023 horribly brickwalled reissue of Substance. If you’re looking for the best sound quality of those songs in particular, pick up this “Total From Joy Division To New Order” vinyl release.

My copy sounds pristine, with rich dynamic sound. I love this album release. This is a nice way to round out my collection.

Un Gran disco recopilatorio, aunque las canciones que se colocaron acá de Joy Division parecen ser más un acto de tributo que una variedad de éxitos -solo lado A de disco 1-, pero por mi no hay problema, sobre JD hay varios discos recopilatorios y de gran alcance. Aquí lo importante es New Order, ya habia salido su Substance de esta banda que resurgió de las cenizas después de la trágica partida de Ian, una banda de culto mundial que supo ganarse bien su lugar entre la delicada repisa del melómano rockero y el cobijo dulce del Mainstream.

Lo mal del plástico, es que una de sus canciones clave, Hellbent, suena saturada, plana, no hay diferencia entre la disposición de instrumentos y la voz de Bernand, la prensa falló en esto en mi vinyl (no sé si sea algo frecuente). En general creo que se le pasa al ser un Gran disco doble con buenos temas, buena manufactura y a un precio razonable ($30 usd) vale la pena.

I have IGD problems with my copy of this album (both records). Did I get a dud copy or are they all like that?
