Beautiful music, really, really enjoyable. I bought the album based on a recommendation for cosy music albums and it was a good one.
Regarding the sound, yes the mastering may seem strange (especially on track one where guitars sound distorted like) but this is the way the music is supposed to sound. The dynamic range (DR) is about 13 (a good one) and the way the artist's voice and the instruments sound is fairly dynamic, given the music and the limitations of vinyl records. The way they are mixed may not please everyone though but that's another discussion.
The jacket is wonderfully made, a pleasure to hold and see. But the original inner sleeve is a horrible plain paper one, in total contrast with the beautiful jacket. The disc came out full of scuffing but after a good wet cleaning it proved to be very silent. Only a click here and there. Nothing to matter.
A strong recommendation for those who love this kind of music or want to discover something new and refreshing (like me).

This has been reviewed really negatively, but my copy sounds extremely clear and dynamic to my ears. I don't have any pops, background noise, or distortions. It might be a little quiet, but I can crank up the volume and it fills my headphones. Very happy with my copy.

Can anyone recommend a remastered production with perfect bass as I feel this is worthy of a better pressing.

Sounds absolutely beautiful, and is one of my all-time favourite albums (Europe pressing).

Mine sounds like it was recorded from a cassette tape in 1987. Songs are great, but I almost felt like my deck wasn’t running consistently at 33.3

It seems this pressing is quite polarising. I hadn’t listened to it for some time and after seeing the mass negative reviews I felt it would be time to revisit it.

I can’t agree with the people saying this is a noisy, muddy mess. Quite the contrary. It sounds delicate and offers an impressive dynamic in my opinion.

I’m wondering if there’s different variants of this pressing where some sound worse than others because this is by no means my worst sounding record. It’s actually pleasant to listen to.

My copy came with the lyric booklet, but without the 12” insert and my front cover is noticeably more cropped than the image here. One of the leaves even rolls off under the cover.

Quite simply the worst fucking pressing you will ever hear. Imagine you lent a vinyl record to a Dog. This dog then picks it up with its saliva dripping mouth and runs around the park, drops it in the mud and his Doggy pal comes along and takes a shit on it, then tries to bury it with his back legs. That Dog shit ridden vinyl would still sound better than this….

Great album. Horrible pressing. Distortion makes is un-listenable. Should have kept it sealed.
