My new copy sounds great. Quiet with no surface noise. It is rich and full sounding with a punchy low end. For the price I am very impressed. It is a GZ Media pressing which is a crap shoot for pressing quality. Im not suprised with some of the negative pressing-related comments. My system is really sensitive to any noise and this is a pleasurable listen and demands a quiet pressing.
System:
Dynaco ST70 tube amp
Dynaco PAT 4 pre amp
Thornes TD 16 MKII turnable with Grado red
Altec Voice of the Theater speakers -
Great pressing of what, over the years, has become my favourite of The Boss's albums. The warmth of the vinyl enhances the album's stark production, drawing out every nuance in Springsteen's voice as he channels the struggles of forgotten Americans. Tracks like "Youngstown" and the title track carry a depth that feels almost tangible in analog form.

Superb sound on this one. Mine looks absolutely mint, but does have some slightly noisy sections on Side A. Still, it’s well worth having in the collection. The reissue is a complete mess & constant pops and crackles. -
Luckily, I ended up with a variant 1 pressing that has none of the aforementioned pressing/quality issues. Very clean and quiet.

Anyone giving this less than 5 stars needs to have their ears checked. It’s stunning from start to finish. One of my demo albums. -

My brand new copy (Runout 88985460171A/B) was also poorly manufactured. Dirty with surface noise on both sides, with Side B being the worst. There was a visible scratch directly out of the sleeve on Side B that caused a repetitive pop. The center hole was too small for the spindle. Just a dreadful pressing.

As everyone already said, great pressing, excellent sound, warm and punchy and detailed. And of course one of Boss’ masterpiece. Don’t hesitate to grab this release, you won’t regret :-)
-
Amazing tape from Bruce its definitely best of Springsteen's albums i heard. All songs are pure gold.☆☆☆☆☆
