This one blew my mind with its clarity and punchiness...hair on the back of your neck moment when "Raspberry Beret" kicked in...I'm hearing things in this one that I've never heard before. Can be had for reasonable money...don't tell anyone or the price with shoot up!

I didn't think much of this one when it came out, but a friend was playing it recently and I was struck by how well it holds up today as a demented psychedelic soul masterpiece. "Temptation" might go on a bit long, but it's got a groove that kicks ass. "Pop Life", "Paisley Park", "Around The World In A Day", "Raspberry Beret" and "Tamborine" have an irresistibly breezy quality. I guess at the time I was expecting more of the same, but now I think it rates among his best albums, and certainly among the more unique in his catalogue. This pressing sounds very good, as long as you keep in mind that the low end is minimal. That's the way it was recorded, so that's the way it goes. My copy plays beautifully, with no surface noise of note.

Such A Beautiful And Warm Sounding Cassette. Incredible Music, Without A Doubt A Must Own Album.

When Compared To An OG 1985 CD This SHM CD Does Sound A Fair Bit Warmer And More Vinyl Like And Thus I Prefer It As The 1985 CD Does Have Abit Of A Sterile Atmosphere To It. The Two CD's Only Really Differ In Minor Tweaks To The EQ And A Minor Shift In Volume Outside Of That. But If One Loves This Album I Recommend Picking Up The SHM CD.

Great album. One of my all time favourites. I have this edition but no sticker on front cover in mine.

My copy came with The Balloon Boy sticker on shrinkwrap. Same matrix/runouts as 2016 US/EU reissues, Made in the Netherlands on the back cover flip.

Just got one of these off Amazon but it appears to be a newer 2021 pressing by The Prince Estate. Has the cellophane balloon boy sticker but also the same hype sticker and UPC info as the non-gatefold 2022 Prince Estate reissue..
