Just bought this in late April on sale ay “Sunrise…”. Just cleaned it and played it. Vinyl is perfect. Silent, flat and centered. Sounds awesome. Love it. A great issue.

The record is pressed quite 'hot', which gives some congestion on K.D.'s voice. ittedly, this problem is on the CD as well, just amplified now on the vinyl. Nice to have on vinyl, but the CD sounds better imo. My copy is also less than silent, also not after rigorous cleaning. Still not the worst pressing, considering the 'smoke' swirl gadget.

I have few issues with my copy. I do notice some flaws on side C, but I can easily ignore them. It's perfectly fine as a listener copy of a great album.

I also did not have the issues people have been reporting below. Just a small amount of surface noise on my copy. The records sound very nice.

Awful pressing - ticks, pops & crackle, all through the left channel. Should have been a gatefold release as well. If you are lucky enough to get a clean pressing you’re on a winner, as the sound is phenomenal, and is one of best-sounding records I’ve ever heard.

Jumped on this on RSD was thrilled to see released. Then I brought home and played. End of joyfulness. I know from first drop of needle if good press or not and this was right there with all the other bad ones in the last bunch of years. Snap crackle pop to start middle and finish. Some rare quiet spots here and there but not enough for the price. And for first time on vinyl do it right man.

I was nervous seeing all the new comments about a noisy pressing while my copy was in transit, but after giving it a full spin just now, mine also came out very nice. Other than a couple very light pops at the start of Side C--which may disappear after a clean--there were absolutely no hisses, pops, or clicks otherwise. Sound is clear, dynamic, and smooth throughout as an album like this needs to be. Quality is pretty much on par with the Ingénue 25th Anniversary pressing.

I completely understand the gimmick behind making this vinyl edition "smoky" but I wish record companies would stop doing this when the LP has never been released on vinyl before. Record Store Day pressings for albums which have never come out on vinyl before do not need the additional ploy of being on coloured or (in effect) splatter vinyl. Black audiophile vinyl would be perfect enough.

I have now bought two copies of this LP and both of them have manufacturing flaws on the first disc caused I believe by the two different vinyl colours not molding together properly. The first copy I bought had raised "lumps" in the playing surface of the disc on the final track of side 2 caused by the black vinyl pellets not being pressed perfectly with the clear vinyl. Thump, thump, thump across the quieter ages of the song. REJECT. The second copy which I just had delivered and opened has a indentation line running across the first track of side 2. THUMP THUMP THUMP from the lead-in silence to the end of the song. Again, REJECT.

Very irritating on a record which costs £38 at most retailers here in the UK. I do not mind the cost at all-I would have paid £50 for this album if it was pressed properly. I am sure some people will say "mine is perfect" and I have no doubt their copies are, but seriously, where is the quality control? This is supposed to be a limited edition. I noticed these pressing flaws as soon as I took the LPs out of the sleeves; I didn't even have to really look. The quality control in pressing factories is abysmal-of course there are always going to be faulty copies which slip through but this really seems to be the norm these days and it is very frustrating having bought records for over 40 years.

Finally! I'd been waiting for this one for YEARS. Beautiful vinyl, packaging, and pressing. It sounds perfect, looks wonderful.
Even if you're not a fan, this is a must have.
