Aphex Twin – Cheetah EP

So so so glad that I finally picked up a vinyl copy of this. Cirklon3 (Колхозная Mix) is worth the price of ission all by itself, but then you also get CheetahT7b with those percolating bubbles? Ridiculous.

Noisy, somewhat lofi budget release. It worked well as a moody soundtrack for Brexit at the time though

Just grabbed this after ing on it for years and the pressing is just about perfect. Dead silent. No new ground being broken as far as I can tell, but it’s an extremely satisfying listen at 33.33…

Cool EP with great artwork (really don’t understand the hate – I think the design is sick). Pressing sounds great.

My only gripe: it is an absolute tragedy that 2X202-ST5 was left off the vinyl release. That track goes HARD

That 4:27 version of Cheetaht2 [Ld Spectrum] is an absolute banger.

i feel like this ep is slept on, such a low-key vibe! my copy is nice and flat too

I really like the artwork of this release. I know the font is supposed to be a homage to the Cheetah "Sweet Talker" speech synth chip from the 80s ( https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/Horace-Silver-The-Natives-Are-Restless-Tonight/master/1134061
Very pleasing to the eye.

Pretty much all of this release is similar to tracks on his 200+free soundcloud archive that he released a few years back for free. Oh well I have it physically, though it's pretty damn ugly!

Some of it is a little uninspired, but it's a nice, chill listen. Worth picking up if you're paying less than $20 for it.
