RCA Studios, Chicago

American recording studio also known as RCA Victor Studios, Chicago, comprising Studio 1, 2 and 3. RCA's Chicago studios had at three different locations in its history. The first, from circa 1927 to 1935, was located at 952 N. Michigan Avenue. From 1935 through April 1969, the facility was at 445 North Lake Shore Drive in the Navy Pier section. In 1969, the final location at 1 North Wacker Drive in the Loop was used. Among the most famous of the Chicago studio's client labels was Motown; also, The Guess Who recorded some of their most famous hits there, notably the double-sided "American Woman" / "No Sugar Tonight".

The staff of RCA Chicago's mastering division included Randy Kling; after that studio closed, he later relocated to their Nashville studios and even later, ran his own mastering studio.

RCA closed its Chicago operations on April 26, 1972. A few months later, the facilities were taken over by Curtom Studios.
