I'm just resuming a discussion I initially posted here: https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/forum/thread/392041

Having done a lot more work on Australian studios in that time, I'm proposing a clean-up of these studios according to name, rather than era, as that will be too difficult methinks (check the discographies of the studios to see what I mean). And it seems ridiculous to me that there are six different entries for these studios. Consolidation seems better than the mess we have now.

    The variants are:
    Bill Armstrong Studios

    - Everything listed with a variation of "Bill Armstrong" in the title to be moved to Bill Armstrong Studios.
    - Everything listed as "Armstrong Studios" (or any variant with just "Armstrong" and "Studios", no "Bill", no "Audio/Video") be moved to Armstrong Studios.
    - Everything listed with "Audio/Video" or a variant of "AAV" in the title be moved to A.A.V. Studio 2, which according to RSG §4.3.3 should not be separately listed anyway.

Historical info on the studio is here: http://www.milesago.com/industry/armstrongs.htm

Looking forward to lots of enthusiastic responses.

seems reasonable. I agree, after looking at each current page, that sorting by time period would be too hard and would probably involve too much guesswork and the possibility of introducing errors.

Yes agreed. A good plan Tim.

Thanks guys. I'll start the clean-up this weekend if there's no objections, though a little help would be appreciated for 70s releases, as I know there's a lot of mix-ups there.

Bill Armstrong Studios. I'll start work on others soon.

Bill Armstrong Studios. The march continues.

Something I neglected to say earlier, as I'm doing these edits, is that I'm splitting the studios into three entries because that kind of reflects a chronological sequence - the studios were known pretty much as Stars (6) - Back Again (released 1977, studios shown as "Armstrong Studios").

I've now moved releases listed under Armstrong Studios, in accordance with the above schema. Where releases didn't show the studio name in the notes, or have images to show how it appears on the release, I didn't change the studio. The exception was where the release had been copied from another that did have identifying notes or images; in these cases, I used the name from the original release. There were a couple of releases where the studio appeared under two different names in the one release; where this was the case, I moved the studio to the entry that was more commonly in use at the time (according to the schema above).

I've also made an update of the AAV profiles when I have the time.

Just finished the updates to AAV.

All AAV, and a redirection placed on the former's profile.
