The voting ability of anyone found voting on their own submissions is automatically removed.

No warning is given to individuals regarding this, the ability to vote is removed straight away.

If you have two or more s, please do not vote on your own submissions.

In order to avoid confusion, I would advise submitting and voting with only one .

The voting process is there so we can check each others subs for mistakes, voting on your own subs is basically bying the system, and is considered abuse of the vote.

If you think you have a lot of outstanding submissions needing voted on, please request votes in the Requests for votes on your submissions thread.

If you see voting abuse, please our staff.

    Thanks!

    Update:

Question - Can I vote on my own submission after someone else has made an update?

Answer - The voting system is there for us to check the information. I wouldn't feel happy voting correct on a submission I made where another has made a small edit, but the release hasn't been voted on by another voter.

    Simple example:

    A Submits (needs vote)
    B Edits (needs vote)
    - At this point, I would advise A refrains from voting
    C votes
    B edits (needs vote)
    - At this point, I think it would be ok for A to vote

    Or, a more complex example:

    A Submits (needs vote)
    B Edits (needs vote)
    - At this point, I would advise A refrains from voting
    C edits
    - At this point, I would advise A and B refrain from voting
    D votes
    C edits
    - At this point, I think it would be ok for A and B to vote

It is ultimately up to the voter to decide if their vote is appropriate. There aren't any guidelines or programmed system in place for this at the moment.
