Wake Up! is the DEBUT (FIRST) ALBUM by Out of Focus, released in December 1970.

The eponimus (self titled) album is their SECOND one, released 1971.

I have their first album as a recent reissue and I like it a low.
Soundwise I would not say this early pressing being any better.

There's something irritating about the sound engineering. This album has been recorded at the same studio in munic as has Embryo's fabulous "Opal". While the strict channel separation on "Opal" to me is the stroke of a genius (only in early pressings!), on this album to me it is a fail, voice mainly from the right and somehow it does not become a whole.

Musicwise I am not at all impressed:
I find it a lot more predictable (to not say boring) and will quite likely part with it after a while.

Political content and vocal mannerisms clearly in an Edgar Broughton style - pretty good but not like the real thing

Nice, flat, clean, quiet pressing. Recorded in the final months of 1970 and very much of its time. The cover art tells it like it is.
