I think the Stone Roses must’ve liked this album 😉

I like this album. But sound-wise I think it plays a bit flat. Having just revamped my stereo and listened to other LP's I found it sounded low in of dynamic range. My copy is very good, so no defects .. just a bit flat. I am not an audiophile so it may be nothing. I just wanted to hear more brightness & depth than I got. Still a great set of songs.

Sound wise this and naturally the original UK press both are great. Not overly loud or intrusive. Rather inticing like the interesting music itself. Good control even when the soundstage fills up with performances. Nice use of brightness as well as low end, not getting sibilant or sloppy. Just very well rounded and pleasing, on quiet vinyl too none the less.
Cant fault this old goodie, an original UK is a safe bet!

        Equipment used:
Rega RP1 with Nagaoka MP-110 cartridge
        Cyrus 2 Amplifier
        System Fidelity SF-3050 tower speakers
        Custom made HQ speaker cables

Very abstract post punk music here, at times aggressive with some dark romantic touch.

I think the depicted labels belong to the 2nd edition. Shouldn't the 1st edition have labels with blue-white gradient with Virgin written in red?
