Edited 5 years ago'XYZ', the track omitted from the original release, will finally be available on 12" as this EP is being reissued by Warp on 14/11/19.
The artwork has been changed due to being part of 'WXAXRXP', the label's 30th anniversary box set. It will also be available individually, just like the other 9 records that make up the box set. -

Well, after MUSIC HAS A RIGHT TO CHILDREN, the Boards of Canada PEEL SESSION feels almost superfluous. The alternate versions of "Aquarius" and "Olson," while nice, don't add much, while "Happy Cycling," with its peppy seagull rhythms, shows their perkier side. This short EP only whets the appetite for more Boards of Canada, rather than fulfilling it.

Edited 17 years agoThe version of "Aquarius" here has a slightly different intro, a different sequence of numbers, and an added synth line (or perhaps vocal sample) in the middle, and is also slightly longer. It's also noticeably different from the single version of "Aquarius", which seems to be in a different key. "Happy Cycling" is identical to the version on Music Has The Right To Children. "Olson" is radically different from the album version: the synthesizer sounds are completely different, the airplane noise is replaced by a scratchy, almost insect-like sample, a melody is added in the middle, and the track is almost twice as long.

Edited 18 years agoI don't suppose it would be any less disappointing if this "Peel Session" had been billed as a "Peel Session Excerpt," but at least there would be truth in advertising; only two of the four tracks from the session are actually included. The broadcast version of "Happy Cycling" is replaced by an already-released version, and the track "XYZ" is omitted. The two tracks from the session that are included ("Aquarius" and "Olson") are probably worth the price of ission for fans since they are uniquely tweaked and classic tangents of the better-known versions. It's hard to not feel cheated, however, when you discover that the disc only delivers half of the broadcast session.

Not much people know but there is a four Peel Session track called XYZ. It's pretty easy to find and . Very good track to say the least it also a exclusive track. MHTRTC style.
