I gotta say, I feel really silly having listened to these albums for the last 20 years now that I know they're "not music".
I suspect John Cage is getting dizzy, in his grave, from all the spinning around. -
Many thanks to John and James ! With the publication of this complitation, of this great artist, which unfortunately was hardly noticed, you have made magnificent !!! Fantastic remastered and a great layout and booklet !

I was one of those who pre-ordered to help important release this huge set, as i had a copy of his 'Unfolding' on Japanese import, and new his sculptures were brilliant. But little prepared me for this. Even the irritation over the £12 import charge that royal Mail, hit me with (this will become common practice now Cameron has sold them to foreign investors) faded as i began to play the discs. Huge...nay immense soundscapes that sound closer to electronics than shimmering myriads of steel rods in motion, this knocks most of the post-industrial dark-ambient wasters into a hatted cock. Eerie, unearthly yet earthy, organic, joyous and literally vibrant pieces that show Harry was way, way ahead of the pack and did it best- surely now is the time for re-evaluation of the pioneers of soundscapes and experimental ambience (did Bertoia coin 'ambient' before Eno?) on these SonAmbient re-releases, with Bertoia up there with David Tudor and john Cage as an inventor of wond'rous abstract sound. Compulsive, brilliant, life-affirming, this is the best reissue of vital sound since Eliane Radigue's 'Adnos'. If i hear a better sound all year i will be amazed. Re-issue of the decade and record of the year...so far....!
