Edited 17 days ago"Leave Home" was the Chemicals' debut single on a major label and announced their arrival into the big time. An amalgamation of funk, techno, hip hop and rock, it finessed the big beat template they had been building since 1992's "Song To The Siren" with a sound that was accessible yet sophisticated.
Named after The Ramones' Segs added a heavy, infectious bassline, which combines with the funky Hendrix-esque guitar riff to give the track its distinctive funk-rock feel.
Reached #17 in the UK singles chart and can be heard in the mix on the Chemicals' "Brit Hop And Amyl House". (8)
