Superb pressing, very warm and crystal clear. The surface noise is present, but is only noticeable in quiet parts.
-
Outstanding pressing, and in fact one of the best records I own. Acquired as a Christmas gift in 2024. I didn't have any of the issues mentioned by other reviewers.
-
Es horrenda la cantidad de click y pop que trae este vinilo ; no deja disfrutar la obra musical el prensado es muy superficial por eso la cantidad de ruido ,dinero tirado a la basura

Edited 7 months agoWhile the music itself sounds amazing? The pressing and its surface noise is atrocious. The copy I had? Sides 1 and 2 were awful and staticy, with 3 and 4 being only marginally better. I would suggest going for an older copy, for sure. Oh, and cleaning didn't fix my situation at all, I cleaned every side 5 times.

Yes, clean your records and your stylus. Use a strong enzymatic cleaner on the vinyl. Look at your needle with a magnifying glass to see if it is not white with dust. Most records I own have a pop or two. Most records I have make some noise but a pop or two is not bad. Cleaning with a good cleaner will reduce noises and clear up the sound tremendously. That is the first step.

picked this today, listening to it nnow early impression, harsh surface noise to start each side and some crackles in between but doesn't interfer with the songs when playing. The first two songs on Disk 1 side A sounded a bit thin but after that it's like a new album, everything sounds nice and full Good Bye Blue sky on side B is wonderful So far it reminds of the Dark Side of the Moon re release some surface noise but sound is very full and spacious. I'm digging it.

I'm told this is a digital re-master, and one of my locals describes digital re-masters as 'CD on Vinyl'. It has it's merits, but if you're looking at a copy of this one I'd highly recommend holding out for a pressing from 1979. They aren't that expensive if you can find them locally.
But if you want to get an idea of what a good pressing can do, compare a first press with this one. You can't unhear it. -
The first copy of this I got had a pressing defect that looked like an insect or small chunk of debris was pressed under the grooves right between C1 and C2 that caused about 15 seconds of repeating clicks but no skipping just as C2 was beginning in the quiet sound effect parts. Very annoying. I picked up another copy and it is absolutely flawless. After a spin clean and dry, I listened to the entire album without so much as a single click or static pop to be found. This thing is dead quiet in the quiet bits and punchy in the loud bits. Flat as a pancake too. Very happy.
