Notes
First pressing
Uncensored
There are two versions of this release. Original first release was withdrawn soon after release due to obscenity law problems. It isn't known how many of the first release actually made it into the hands of consumers. Subsequent re-release has some words changed on side 1 track 2 "Animal". The line in the song "I'm a child molester" was changed to "I'm your next door neighbor".
Versions can also be distinguished by matrix markings - original has LMNOP-1-A1 and LMNOP 1 B1, re-release has LMNOP 1 A2 and LMNOP 1 B2.
An aurable Production.

Edited one year agoThis had already sold 20,000+ before the record label distributer insisted on changes to their lyrics which led to Winston staying in New York for a short time-so the band couldnt be forced to re-record anything and it would continue to be pressed up as the band intended it.. obviously at some point they did change it but i don't think either version is particularly rare

Feels like they try to hard to fit in a category of punk and when a band tries to do that you know they’ve failed, I wouldn’t class these guys as punk really but same time I actually quite enjoyed this album, good sound just wish more bands could just be themselves instead of trying too hard to be something they aren’t, just dead annoying really. Decent overall I’d still buy the record

Edited 7 years agoProbably more rock and roll / cheesy obscene than really punk. They've got a great punk logo and got some good songs. Corey Duffel had one of their songs in a skateboard video earlier in the 2000s.
It's weird if you've listened to punk bands for a long time that as time es by you either still like a band or grow tired of them and I feel like I can't really listen to these guys anymore. Sometimes you just listen to lyrics years later and shit seems so fucking dumb. I'd say ANL sounds more clueless than anything. Trying to be punk and hard but really not. I guess punk nostalgia keeps these sort of bands going. Buy bondage pants and spike you hair and wear this band t-shirt and hang with other punks and you'll fit in. You're not a clone, you're an individual... Just like the other of millions of punks before you -
I love this band. Their motto was 'We're the Antii-Nowhere League and you're not' and no, no I am not, nor would I ever aspire to emulate the mighty Animal. And they're not apologists for fascist fans and killers like that bastard Wattie from the Exploited. Animal states the League credo far better than I ever could; nd so "You criticize us. You say we're sh*t. But we're up here and we're doing it. So don't you criticize the things we do. No fu**er pays to go and see you.' l one of my favorite punk records ever, and I have the far filthier version of 'Animal'. Just fair warning; They hate people and they hate you.

I don't know how rare the uncensored version really is, I just bought a pristine copy on Ebay for $27. Maybe I got lucky?

I have the original "uncensored" release of this record too with the 2nd track "Animal" that has the lyrics with "child molester" in them. I bought the album in 1982 in southern California right when it arrived at my local record store as an Import. I bought it for $9.98 back then. I understand that when all the records recalled shortly after their release in England, there were a number of them that made it out to other countries as exports... Those records and any that people bought in England right when they came out are the only ones that still exist. It would be interesting to know exactly how many are out there... but I'm willing to bet the number is not that large...

is anyone aware of the worth of the orginal uncensored LP? I bought a copy at a local record store a few days ago for $40 and I have a feeling it's worth more. If anyone knows anything about it message me please.
