Edited 20 days agoI find it funny to watch the price of this rise slowly over time. I check back every once in a while and it's usually up ~$10 from what it was before.
Bought my copy years ago on a clearance rack where there were multiple copies of this album. I used to see it everywhere for cheap and no one wanted it. -
Love this album so much. Wish this pressing was a little better as it sounds a hit compressed. Colored vinyl box set please!!!

Edited 2 years agoThe least impressive record I own. The sound is so compressed, which is unfortunate as I own another Weezer record that sounds great (Van Weezer). Another big miss is pressing this in black and not white......my OCD is off the charts with that decision.

Edited 2 years agoWeezer has enjoyed a voluminous yet checkered output, since their blue masterpiece in 1994. Since then, there have been several great singles, watered down by mediocre albums.
'White'(1996) does not have a killer single, but the entire album is above average and solid. Writing and lyrics hearken back to the Pinkerton/Blue period. Recording is dry, heavily layered, and mixed very hot. Vocals are compressed throughout, but that is intentional. Nice 3-dimensional soundstage.
Highlights are "California Kids", "King of the World", "Do You Wanna Get High?" Put it on at a party and crank it.
Pressing has good low end and thump. No errors and clean vinyl. No complaints. 3.5 stars

Absolutely compressed, this one is not a good copy. It´s a pity, because this album deserves something better.
-
Pretty good quality release altogether. Very light on bass, but the vocals and rest of the instruments stand out well. Good, dynamic sound altogether
-
Will likely get a repress when the pressing plants are back up to full speed after covid, just be patient and don't pay these exorbitant prices.

Sound is dull, harsh, and compressed. It looks like they stamped on vinyl the (a bad) CD master. It is not that CDs have to sound bad, it is that they aren't mastered properly.
