Underground legends like Larry Levan, Francois K., Arthur Baker, Thompson & Barbeiro, Nick Martinelli, & others were so good at what they did, that major labels and mainstream artists took notice, and before too long, they were commissioned to do extended 12" remixes for them.
Larry did this one, and while it improves on the LP version, I don't think Larry cared for the song much, as he really didn't do much with his mix. -
The drums and the horns really stand out on this version. It may be the most under-produced 12" single Duran Duran ever put out and I dig it! One of my favorite Duran Duran tracks that was also their first flop, apparently.
