Edited one month agodespite whats being said, mine came perfect, no pops ir clicks.
bought from amazon.
nice copy, good sound, and you can get it for a reasonable price. -

my copy came flawless. the extra music and material is sooo worthit if you love this album. just swap the LP1 disc with a cheaper one if you find any issues lol. marvelous stuff… trane quartet lives on

Well what a cock-up...
Despite being labeled as sides 1 and 2, the record actually contains the music of sides 5 and 6. Sides 3 and 4 are correct. 5 and 6 are too... Sending it back!! -
LP1 warped, dust and cracks. poor pressing. noisy and not flat. different quality from the acoustic verve series

Edited 3 years agoBought new, but was very dusty, cleaned tree times and still lots of surface noise.
Unfortunately a bad copy for me, and 45€ gone that i could have spend on a nice jazz vinyl for my collection. No more Impulse copy,s for me.
I stay save with the Blue Note tone poet series and Craft records issues, the are alway’s top notch. -
HUGE pops and clicks right off the bat, and after several cleans......really disappointed. So many issues with new vinyl. Getting tired.

I would like to know why they used a washed out and cropped version of the original cover when they obviously had access to the original photo. As others have stated, it's not the best quality pressing but I don't think it detracts from the recordings. This is still worthwhile to have on vinyl and the booklet with full page spread of the written music is gold. I'm thinking of this set as a compliment to my 70's pressing. Archie Shepp in the mix really changes the spirit of the piece. I love that we have access to these recordings now.

Quality pressing, very little noise, no apparent warping, and audio quality is fantastic. That said, based on the other reviews here, there really needs to be more quality control. I would recommend this if there were better quality control, but given the quality control issues, buying this is a bit of a gamble it seems. Other than that, the mastering is phenomenal, and the bonus material is a nice inclusion.
