Edited 4 months agomaybe it sounds great, I don't know, but it bought itbrand new, but ticks, clicks all over the album, okki nokki washing doesn't help. so be carefull to pay a lot for it ..

Sick, very flawed and overblown album with a few stellar moments. A really quirky one! But let's speak about the pressing: simply fantastic, silent and organic. I would have never expected such a quality release after the disappointing pressing of "Heathen". Well worth searching for it if you like this period of Bowie's career.

I can imagine people are frustrated about the high prices here on Discogs, but don't blame the vinyl. In this case the remastered Friday pressing is great (which I cannot say unfortunately about Earthling). No noise, a clear balanced sound and a nice deep bass.
I love I'm Deranged, and on this pressing it really sounds perfect! -
Anything "Mastered by Joe Reagoso" for Friday Music isn't worth $2. Anyone spending $200 is out of their mind. This is a disastrous reissue and most likely pressed from the CD. Ridiculous price. This is garbage.

Dreadful reissue of a truly brilliant album. Very thin sound, showing all the signs of having been sourced from CD. It’s also probably not without significance that the pages from the CD booklet are produced at CD size. This is a shoddy release and I’m surprised at how many positive comments it’s had on here - I guess that just shows how desperate people are to have the full-length album on vinyl. You’d be better off tracking down the Excerpts From Outside LP ( which sounds amazing) or waiting for the Parlophone edition. The Friday Music release is best avoided.

My favourite album of all time. There is only one issue I have with 'Outside' and its that you have to get a FridayMusic pressing if you want the full version meaning you have that horrible, cumbersome tri-gatefold.
Still got my fingers crossed that one of these days MusicOnVinyl will press/publish their own variant of the full '1.Outside' (simply because to me, MoV's quality is unparalleled. Still somewhat baffled as to why they only reissued the 'Excerpts' variant). -
I think this should be RESTOCKED. Because I want all the issues from Friday Music (I have heathen and Reality) so I don’t really want a reissue but the prices are absolute CLOWNERY. Does anyone know why the prices went up? It’s not RSD or limited number of copies. If someone has a sealed copy they would like to part with for under $80 I would love to buy it. (Also applies to the Green Earthing).

Edited 5 years agoThis is a really wonderful release of a really fantastic album. Bowie, reinvigorated in the 90s following a period of artistic wandering, released some of his most daring and confident work in "1. Outside." To hear it ringing so crisp and clear, revealing many intricacies easily looked over in other releases, is a real pleasure.
I bought this the moment it was made available and it's been one of my favorite LPs in my collection since. If you can snag a copy for a good price, it's well worth it; it even comes equipped with the absolutely bonkers companion short story printed in the gatefold.
