Peak Juan Atkins. An Object Lesson in melodic Detroit Techno, in everything that is exceptional about electronic dance music. The JA programming and melodic magic is everywhere on this record. Cosmic, futurist, funky, hypnotic, melodic techno of the very highest order. Infiniti Collection is simply one of the greatest albums of techno ever produced.

This album is genius stuff really... it's interesting to note quite a few people appreciating this music without knowing it was JA that did it. Well you know how we all like to "love" some people's music even if it a particualr track was poor!

What's really interesting is I just happened to listen to Sabres of Paradise - Sabresonic (album)which I used to think was really good however in retrospect it's production was "fashionable" and sounds pretty flat now... I then listened to this and I agree with some comments above.. it really is in a different league entirely - production is amazing... good to see that JA is still producing music that is way out there and I can easily see me listening to this in 10-20 years from now...

This comment comes all the way from Glasgow ;o)

How does one know what good music is? This is the question which eludes us all. 'Why?' you might ask. In short music appreciation is simply too subjective. How does one know what good music is to you? Thats simple, you find yourself listening to it ad infinitum (excuse the pun).

The first time I heard this record was in Fat Cat back in '96. It was a noticably luscious and groovy record then and still is now.

The record's stand out track is 'Game One' no question. It is without doubt a truly exceptional piece, simply epic and beats thousands of other techno tracks hands down. 'Game One' alongside 'Clear', has to be one of Juan Atkins (Infiniti) all time greats. Good listening!

I've been listening to this album for a while now, and the sonic scape is just that - very rich, not sampled/dub, but that of an atmospheric feel, much like an orchestra of melody.

Each track has it's own flavor - unlike a release with 7 different versions of one song, each stands on its own. My personal favorite is the track I-94, a reference to one of the major interstates to through the city of Detroit, Michigan, United States. It happens to be an interesting, fast-paced song companion to that of Kraftwerk's Autobahn.

Juan Atkins knows how to move a crowd. You could do no wrong with this album.
