Definitely a good selection but this edition has sonic limitations that are not accidental, and that seems to be the status quo with The Clash... how many times can a conglomerate return to the trough???????

Edited one year agoWhat can possibly be said about this legendary music that has not already been said? This compilation covers a lot of bases, Punk, Rockabilly, Disco, Funk and so much more, but it's all infused with the personality of the band, giving it all a consistent, cohesive Clash sound. The sleeve opens up to a decent sized collage poster. If your new to The Clash, start here. If your a diehard, you will enjoy hearing the single versions, which can differ from the LP versions. Enjoy some of the best music ever recorded, an all killer no filler compilation of A sides. Some Clash compilations can raise an eyebrow as you wonder why some tracks where omitted, no such issues with this release, as it's pretty straight forward, it's the A side singles, as far as I can ascertain. Essential, powerful stuff that is still fresh, and timeless, and has not dated, one jot.
Highly recommended.
