I've try a lot of pressing of this masterpiece in my life, and finally kept the Original UK, probably because it was "the first press"... But recently, I bought a vinyl lot with this French press in NM/NM... WoW ! Really Excellent ! High ends clear and bass are deep and vibrant with an great dynamic. So I compared with my Original UK and This French won by far ! More deep, more clear.
This French version is the best I ever heard.
So, I've sold my original without regrets :)

Just did another comparo with this original French pressing and an original Japanese pressing. The Japanese pressing sounds a bit more veiled and dark in comparison. This original French pressing so much livelier, airy, and more presence. It's a bit brighter, yes, but to me it makes it more enjoyable and a full range experience. My Bernie 2016 is the next best pressing, and also more preferred than the Japanese pressing.

Just did a back to back comparo on this and the Bernie remaster 2016, and it's very close. Side 1 and Side 2 this original wins with more clarity, airiness, presence, and punchier bass, less bloated than the Bernie. Side 3 and Side 4 it's even closer, perhaps Bernie wins on Comfortably Numb, but just barely with a tad more clarity in the top. But the original's Comfortably Numb carries punchier bass. Hey You a bit better on the original, with a little more clarity in the strings and the tighter bass. Bernie's Hey You a bit bloated in bass, but still awesome. Run Like Hell I'll say original for more presence. Paid about the same for both so I'm not feeling ripped for investing the time, research and funds to get an original, but I do have one now! See some great reviews of this French pressing on the Steve Hoffman forums from folks who compared this to UK, and German pressings... bought this since the reviewer indicated a better presence in the high end on the French pressing. Not worlds better than the Bernie remaster, but it's there, you can notice differences on certain tracks.
