(Quick Review #41)
Listen: #1+2
I don't know what took me so long to listen to this album. I love GKMC, but this is much better. This is a masterpiece. I have so much love for the production, lyrics and themes of this album. Once again Kendrick pulls off the Concept album amazingly well. While not as obvious as the plot of GKMC, if you look into the lyrics enough you'll get it. This is truely an instant classic, and is with MBDTF as the best rap (or really any genre)album of the 2010s.

Edited 9 years agoI am playing my copy for the first time and there is a constant skipping throughout the entirety of "These Walls." I thought everything sounded fantastic until that song, and I literally couldn't play through the end of the side without the skipping. Anyone else have this issue?
EDIT:: I adjusted the weight on my turntable arm. though i hadn't had this issue with any other LPs, the arm definitely needed rebalancing. seems to have fixed my issue as of now.

Edited 9 years agoI noticed on the inside gatefold it has Hood Politics and Momma switched around in the track listing.
This is for the 2XLP, my mistake. -
The re-arrangement of the tracklist is an absolutely bizarre move. And precisely why I'm going to wait for the official release. The album's narrative and flow will be lost...

I am not sure about anything regarding this release. I do know I have a 2LP set that I have yet to play, but the vinyl is NOT clear or even remotely so. One disk was white marble and the other pink marble. I am hoping that it sounds ok, but just haven't had the chance to listen yet.
I think the buzz around this will ultimately increase sales once an official vinyl set is released, but I hope they don't wait forever :) -

The clear 2xLP version that has been release is a bootleg. This has been confirmed by several sources. There is currently NO official vinyl release for this album.
