I have remasters of all my Zeppelin albums. This one sounds the worst of them all. Very disappointing even though I got it for a decent price.
-
I'm not an audiophile, just wanted to say that I miss the extra long silence (about 10 seconds) there used to be between black country woman and sick again on
previous releases. -
This sounds so bad - tinny distorted vocals and the mix is a mess. I returned it after buying it so disappointing.
-
Not too happy with this one. Some of the other pressings in this reissue series are better. This one is a little lifeless sounding.
-
Poor pressing. I’ve got IGD problems to some degree on all sides and I have a micro line stylus that is properly set up. I should have returned it when I bought it.

Pretty good reissue of the classic album. Obviously this is made using the digitally-sourced remaster, and while the nuances of the sound quality can be debated endlessly as with the rest of the remastered catalog, for a widely available new vinyl copy of Physical Graffiti, it serves its purpose very well.
Anyone expecting audiophile quality out of a more mass-produced and classic/iconic album is expecting far too much. The mastering on some of these tracks is definitely better than others, but for a modern vinyl copy of this album, it does exactly what it needs to do and doesn't sound bad at all. Don't be dissuaded by people with thousand-dollar setups if you're just looking to have the album on wax. -

I am also sorry to report that despite having an engaging stereo soundstage, JPJ sounds like he’s playing bass through a guitar amp and Bonzo’s kick drum has been replaced with a cardboard box. There was me thinking remastering a classic of this calibre would have sorted all this out... there’s odd but subtle master volume drops in ‘In My Dying Time’ that feel like the track is ending as though your front row seat has been pushed back a few feet, which must be limiters kicking in.
Not bad, not great either. I’ll keep it but it’s a borderline return. I just listened to a flac I have of it and it’s sounds just as flat. We must always in our quest for the audio sublime that mixing and remastering is dependant on what and how it was recorded, the setting for which was in a pot filled stately home!
Great music, not a great audiophile result sadly -
Edited 4 years agoSorry to report that this reissue sounds dull and lifeless. The main problem is that the LP was cut from a digital source by a 70 year old rock musician instead of a mastering engineer like KG or BG. If the tapes are in good shape, why master from digital?
