Borrowing from the magnificence of Morricone and also being late 60s/early 70s Pink Floydesque (and especially A Saucerful of Secrets right down to the section with the drums) and with Morricone being the guv’nor and 1968-72 being my favourite Floyd era and FSOL among my favourite producers this combination was always going to equate to special for me. The whole of My Kingdom is a masterpiece though.

Whether they were aware of it or not, FSOL really get inside your head with this track on the back of microtonal dissonances (a la Aphex Twin), especially in part 4. The effect of these dissonances is like a really wide, lush chorussing - it's due i think to the original source material of the samples used being a little out of tune themselves, or possibly through the processing technique... anyhow, it's just enough to disturb your ear a little bit, without necessarily engendering the thought "wait a minute, this is out of tune". Unbeatable sampling techniques utilised by FSOL.

        10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this full 26 minutes version "My Kingdom" it's a masterpiece of the contemporary music. Probably one the best compositions of the whole history of music.

FSOL give a master lesson in the use of sampling technics, with their incredible sampler of Enio Morricone's "Once Upon A Time In America" film score. It's really a lesson about how to extract a fragment of another record and use it for create new experiences in people that listenning it.

Morricone's "Once Upon A Time In America" film score it's one of my favourites motion pictures original soundtracks. Not very much people can use it without a reaction against by a person who have listen it thousand of times.

Morricone is a genius and FSOL too. Because Morricone's flute reach a new state in this song. If the incredible use of Morricone's sampler it's not enough for you it also contains almost other two fantastical samplers from: "Pungent Effulgent" by Ozric Tentacles and "Rachel's Song" from the film score "Bladerunner" composed by Vangelis and performed by Mary Hopkin.

Really one of my favourite compositions ever. Fantastic.
