Edited 3 years agoI've been through every single pressing to date with the album, and like almost all Funkadelic records struggled to find one that doesn't sound like it was recorded in a bath tub.
When I finally tracked this pressing down I was perhaps too hopeful this would be "the one". Maybe it still is, but the sound is not exceptional. Howard Craft usually delivers, so I'm inclined to believe it's the source itself. Or maybe Craft just wasn't the right guy for this sound. At least the pressing lives up to the Monarch name; clean quiet disc that stands time. I would have to recommend this pressing above all the rest. Still a little dull and not what you hope for when you're digging for those original AAA vibes. But it'll have to do for now.
