One interesting choice they made for this album is - the first 2 tracks are remixes of the B sides from Deathchant #1, when the label was still finding it's style. Which might be why both are significant improvements on the originals (IMO) - and almost entirely new tunes too.

There's also a nod to some of the crew's pre-Deathchant work - Scorpio & Wargroover's track samples the main riff from "Here Comes Mongo", off Diplomat's first EP in 1993 - engineered by Hellfish (as Secret Squirrel).

Listened to this album tonight for the first time in years since I bought it way back in 1998. Brilliant album & still has tracks that sound good even by todays production standards. As mentioned the Running Man is a great slab of UK Hardcore. I also really like the opening track by Diplomat & Beagle. Nothing really stands out on it but its an ominous sign of the things that are due to come later on in the LP. This is also were The DJ Producer started to make mash ups of previous Deathchant releases. cutting and slicing hip hop & hardcore samples of all the stand out tracks from the previous releases. Even the Techno CIty Remix by Diplomat is pretty decent! If you want to know what UK Hardcore was about in 1998 then I dont think there is a better album to check out. Its hsould be bought on sight as copies will be getting rarer by the year.

Trax by Producer and DJ Scorpio & Wargroover are the only ones worth my money on this one

This is a classic Deathchant double pack. This material still sounds good today and was well ahead of its time. There are so many good tracks on it. Its hard to single out one but for me "Running man" by diplomat is a classic. Great intro as stated by previous post and of course the signiture deep pounding kickdrum percussions synonomous with Deathchant Records

I can't believe no one has commented on this LP yet! I got it in the Summer of 98 after hearing nearly every track on the LP played at Helter Skelter in June that year (Human Nature if anyone cares, Producer, Clarkee and Scorpio cained this LP).

Although not all tracks are classics, the majority of them still sound absolutely fantastic 10 years on. The remix of 'Running Man' is still my favourite, a 5 minute intro with a brilliant sample of a preacher saying how he sought redemption, followed by intricate percussion and, ultimately, a cavernous kickdrum that goes right through your body evertime.

Then there's the brilliant 'DJ Producer Takes Deathchant To The Butchers', a perfect homage to Deathchant's back catalogue as well as classic hip hop samples galore. Awesome shit!

I would be here all day if I described all the tracks as buzz my tits off when listening to most of them but rest assured the rest of the LP delivers big time. This LP will go down in history as a nice big pizza slice of UK hardcore techno, a landmark where the UK stood up and said 'yeah we make good music too!'. Like Spinal Tap all the way, this shit gets 11 out of 10.
