Keep on forgetting how great this release is, worth checking out even if you aren't a WASP fan (which I'm not really).

Had this album on original cassette tape when i was a teenager. Recently came back to W.A.S.P.'s discography (from '84 to '92), and after several listenings i realised that "The Headless Children" is Blackie's best and most mature work. I still like the music of the first album (not the lyrics, to be honest), and even more the "Last Command", but this one is quite different from his previous works. More "metal", less "glam"... and same is on for the next (and exceptional as well) album ("The Crimson Idol"). In fact, the "Headless Children" reminds me a lot of Savatage's "Gutter Ballet", which was on my top list of metal albums for all these years. Now, after more than two decades, i can say the exact same for "The Headless Children".
        Botton line... Excellence. 5/5

Highlights: The Heretic, The Headless Children, Thunderhead, Forever Free
