Greece 2000 is one of the defining tracks of trance, and it will be for years to come. Anyone who ventures into the world of trance must listen to this song at least once in their lifetime, as it is a compromise between the two realms of trance music - progressive and uplifting. It's lead melody comes out like an uplifting trance track, except without supersaws and instead a unique synth and some great background pads and riffs. But in the breakdown, it still maintains melody, and in this sense it is a progressive song. One of the great trance masterpieces of our time.

Edited one year agoThis release of Greece 2000 has some of the more interesting takes on the track. Farmatronic Genetic mix is a nice breaks mix, the remix is really not my cup of tea, but I like the idea. Man With No Name remix is a Goa trance remix which I find very nicely done and works very well in Goa sets and in trance sets. Peace Division gives the track a funky tribal house feel and while being hesitant about the remix in the beginning as it bears no resemblance to the original bar the use of the main drum loop, I enjoy this much more now.
