Sounds as though the pre-Bookends versions of "Mrs. Robinson" are reduced to rough-drafts while it's a shame "The Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine" isn't the full version... Briefly had the latter song on a '45' since I lament over its omission on the Old Friends boxed set and bought THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE to retrieve the studio version of A Most Peculiar Man a live version is substituted for, so I guess I'll go back to PARSLEY, SAGE, ROSEMARY AND THYME to also get "A Simple Desultory Philippic" which I also miss having, but this soundtrack is a different type of catch-all of the Immortal Duo's best or at least most-recognizable stuff... Though hard to get past the David Grusin scoring, of which is mainly fluff... -- Dave

The name Joe DiMaggio does not get sung on this record.

They shot many of the Berkeley college scenes at USC when I was going to school down in LA...Dated a young lady who was an extra on the film when it was shot during the Summer...She got paid for over a week with plenty of FREE food and lots of waiting around...When we went to see it at the FOX theatre on Wilshire we saw her mug for only a fraction of a second on screen...Ah, the cutting room floor...Simon and Garfunkel were HUGE then and they helped make this a big selling soundtrack album...Dave Grusin wrote much of the soundtrack music...One thing...the lady said she could never figure out who the star was as NOBODY had really heard much about Dustin Hoffman back then...All he was really known for was a walk around TV commercial for VW...But after this was released...BAM, a huge career ahead for him for decades...

this is a great film very good soundtrack i like how Mr.s Robinson tracks are kinda like prototypes of the song Mr.s Robinson from future albums by Simon & Garfunkel I suggest buying this album in vinyl listing and to watch the film great album its perfect order for the film and setting the mood of the film i give this albuma soild 10/10
