I'm sure all the pressings from '68 sound fierce but if they all sound like this one all the better. The bass in the left channel of Mama Roux is so bubbly, in Danse Fambeaux the guitar sounds like it's coming out of a back room. Such a superb album. For all Dr. John's output he never did match the raw primal intensity of this album. It's an absolutely haunting recording.
