CB deadwax on my red/blue '23 variant. Mine is quiet and full. LeRoi's sax sounds like it's in the room with me... tho my formative years with this compact disc were split between a small bedroom boombox and some seriously budget level car speakers. Wouldn't trade those memories for nuthin... but this is a treat to hear this album so clearly.

Edited one year agoJust got my Walmart exclusive transparent yellow pre-order and it sounds incredible. The color is matched perfectly to the yellow street on the cover. No noise, perfectly flat and the sound is wonderful. Not sure if it got a remaster but it sounds excellent. I don't see that version up yet but I'm sure it will be soon.

Stunned this hasn't been reissued yet. At this point I am thinking they are going to wait until 2023 and do a 25th Anniversary box set for this one. Which is fine, as long as the wait is worth the contents.

I am expecting an elaborate box set when this finally gets a vinyl reissue. It has already been confirmed it will be an AAA pressing. Great so far. I also believe (no sources here), this will be a multi LP set, including live, and outtakes. Otherwise why the big hold up. A simple AAA reissue, 2X LP set could have easily been done by now. Has to be higger plans for this one.

Twenty years on, anybody of you guys in the USA know whether a remastered vinyl edition of this absolute gem is planned/rumoured? So many good memories of my first trip to NYC and Canada in 1998.

All in all, I truly feel this is Dave and the Band's fullest and most experimental record as far as showcasing themselves, and even intertwining other well known artists on top of what is already thick business.
What goes through pure beauty and serenity at points, leads to utter chaos and destruction at others. Resolution is met through soft tones of harmony and bliss.
A few segues also roam around the album...Some so tasteful I wish they would've blossomed into full tracks.
The wave continues throughout the entire album...It's a shame the DMB never were into pressing really anything they ever did, as I would for sure snatch this one up!
