Evidence (2) – Lord Steppington

Kind of a dream team up here. Evidence is a great MC and I like these flowing Alchemist productions with these unconvetional instrumental ingredients, basslines and "percussion only" beats, which create a fundament, pretty dark and spheric, but don´t strive for fat beats or a classical "fat attitude". They give the MC more space and room to spread, the focus is more on the lyrics and Evidence can use it, even with his rather idiosyncrating flow it works out. When thicker beats come along, they are pretty massive and tight, as the case with "Step Masters", which is nicely reduced to that dry beat and a bassline with only some minor scratching and atmospheric sounds. "No Hesitation" with Styles P as a feature rolls along impressively. Overall a very good one, their only tag team effort so far.

I have 2 copies. 1 copy has such a bad concave warp that it can't be played without a heavy center weight. The other copy has 1 good disc and 1 with a slight concave warp. Should be fine without a center weight. But it seems like the discs have some QC issues from the manufacturer.

The velvet jacket is beautiful though and the color of discs looks great. Just look out for warp when you pick this up!

Anyone else disappointed with the sound quality? I can't tell if this is my setup or just a meh pressing.
