Once again, Primal Scream "turns the table upside down" (translation from a French saying). Sure, the album has its flaws, but it was a big "F___ You" to BritPop.

I bought this album by mistake, and when I got home I realised that I wanted to buy the Vanishing Point album, but as I put this in the player and listened I was surprised. I already have the famous Screamadelica album that everyone one raves about, although I only like one song, so as I sat and listened I thought it was going to be rubbish. But I was surprised XTRMNTR is a much better album, although I don't like all of it, there are a few nuggets of gold. This is not an album for the faint hearted, it's raw and very rough, but I like it's hardness and there is some good experimenting going on. I don't think there are any main stream songs on this album and it's all very experimental, it's more artistic than pop music. Overall although I liked it on the first listen, I can see myself getting bored of it, and this album will only be listened to on the very odd occasion.

I disagree with the other commenters here on this. This is the last good Primal Scream album, some proper far-out tracks on here, MBV Arkestra being THE one. Released almost 17 years ago...
